The Languages Gateway is brought to you by a group of leading organisations in the field of languages, skills and education. The need for this portal was identified by 'Towards a National Languages Strategy', produced by five organisations:

The Languages Gateway has been funded in the first phase of its development by the British Academy. It is now being developed in consultation with lead organisations comprising the five organisations listed above, and:
